I genuinely love this show but YouTube is stacked with for-profit, rage-bating haters. They’ve been hating on the show since it was first announced and have created a whole ecosystem around it.

What’s fascinating is that they’re all right-wing trolls, and engaging in the same behavior that they have railed against on the left (cancel-culture, concern trolling, clout chasing). They’re also unashamedly racist and sexist.

The show is great. Check out Rings & Realms on YouTube for super detailed episode analysis by actual fans of Tolkien.

In discussions of The Marvels, Concord, Veilguard, and other recent failures aimed at the "modern audience", I've seen more than once statements regretting how "right wing YouTubers" are going to "eat well" because they have so much content they can produce for the next six months.

Shouldn't the people writing these comments take a moment and wonder if these "youtube grifters" maybe have a point, if they can produce so much content in the first place? Nah. Insert skinneroutoftouch.gif here
